Architectural Design
Architectural Design I
Credits: 2
Prerequisites: Good Math Skills
Site: Fort Dorchester
Students develop the basic skills for the completion of two years of drafting the architectural or engineering area.
The course will assist the students in developing basic skills in sketching, multi-view drawings, auxiliary, views,
floor plans, elevations and sections with emphasis on Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) in architectural
and mechanical drafting using CAD (Computer Aided Design.) They learn 2-D design along with computer
animation and 3-D rendering. This program is recommended for students interested in architecture and/or
engineering and other occupational programs.
Architectural Design II
Credits: 2
Prerequisites: Architectural Design I
Site: Fort Dorchester
This advanced course is intended to develop the existing skills learned in Architectural Design I. The knowledge and skills learned are also used to
prepare the students for a position in drafting and/or post-secondary school. With emphasis in CADD, AD II will be of value to students interested
in engineering, architectural fields, and other occupational areas such as electrical engineering, landscape architecture, building construction, and
other areas requiring CADD trained employees.
