Auto Collision Repair Auto Collision Repair I      Credits:  2     Prerequisite:  None          Site:  DCCTC Auto collision is designed to instruct students in the repair of today’s auto vehicles through the use of specialized tools and equipment.  Areas of study will include automotive construction, body ship operations, safety, automotive construction, automotive tools and equipment, refinishing preparations, simplified metal straightening, frame alignment, abrasives, automotive paints and paint applications equipment.  Students will need an understanding in basic math and enjoying working with their hands.  Upon successful completion students can advance to Auto Collision Repair II.   Auto Collision Repair II Credits:  2     Prerequisites:  Auto Collision Repair I                 Site:  DCCTC Students in their second year will be able to learn advanced techniques using “hands on” MIG weld, plasma cutting torch, plastic welding, use fiberglass, operate a unitized bench repair system, operate a down shaft paint booth and refinish a vehicle using computerized paint mixing equipment and service operations.  The student will use the latest base/clear and urethane refinishing systems.  Additionally, students will develop attitudes, knowledge and skills required for the workplace.
