Auto Technology
Auto Technology I

Prerequisite: None

This course provides instruction on the components, systems and repairs and maintenance on modern automobiles.
Students will learn to identify parts, explain system operations, perform problem diagnosis and complete service
operations on electrical systems, braking systems, steering systems and suspensions and engine and transmission
systems. Basic math skills, a foundation of physical science and a high reading level are required to interpret the
amount of technical information and reference material used. Upon successful completion of this course, students
will be qualified for entry-level employment in quick service business or the continuation of training in enrolling in
Auto Technology II. A valid driver’s license is required.
Auto Technology II

Prerequisites: Auto Technology I

Students will be provided greater intensive advanced mastery of skills in the auto servicing industry. Special
emphasis is placed on computerized diagnostics and specialized repair areas. The hands on course allow students to learn and repair the major
systems including fuel, electrical, suspensions systems brake and drive train. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to take and
pass the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification and can be placed in entry-level employment at a garage or dealership.
